I am a Software Engineer, although software development can be seen as a rigid profession from the outside, the truth is that it is a profession that requires a lot of creativity. I always had an interest in colors, shapes and art in general, but for different reasons I could not study an art career, however, in software development I was inclined to capture “my art” on a screen. I consider that a piece of software is like a piece of art, it can make you feel a lot of satisfaction depending on how it is designed, and that is where my first stumble came. Designing software and / or a user interface is not an easy task, I mean, designing it in a good way gives the users an easy way to satisfy their needs. I began a search to improve my skills, reading articles and watching videos, then I came across terms like UX or usability. However, the more I read, the more doubts appeared and the path instead of being clearer became more blurred and frustrating.

I spent some time until one day, in my search to improve my skills and my “art” I came across IxDF, which offered me the possibility of take different UX Design Courses, learn from the best professionals in the area and the possibility to start in the basics to the most advanced knowledge, I got an annual subscription the same day.

Some of the Master Class I attended

I have been studying at IxDF for almost 2 years, my career has evolved a lot, I continue developing software, however, I am sufficiently trained to not only sit down to write code, I can also design software from the planning phase to the production phase. What I learned at IxDF helped me to jump from being sitting waiting for orders to be part of the planning team in my company, and has the freedom to talk with customers and users to reach the goals. Some new skills like prototyping, importance of white spaces, sales funnel, smart goals, accessibility, etc. where added to my curriculum.

Courses completed

What I learned at IxDF not only help me in my company, I was able to meet incredible people in the IxDF communities, I also had the opportunity to give different talks, online courses and webinars about what I learned, I wrote some articles for different magazines and I currently teach UX at a university and also I have a podcast where I share my experience and try to share my knowledge.

My distinctions in the community

I believe that I am able to deliver quality software to my users and clients that really helps them, I am creating art and I thank IxDF for that.
